  1. Open the X-CTU Software. The starting screen should show you a com port used by an XBee. Make sure the settings match the settings in the picture.

    • Go to the Modem Configuration tab.

    • Click on the Read button.

  2. First modify the channel. This can be any number or letter. Make sure this channel is the same across all XBee's that you are using. Next, modify the DL- Destination Address Low field to FFFF. This will make the XBee's broadcast the data. Modify the MY-16-bit Source Address. This can be any 16 bit number, and make sure all beacons have different address's.

  3. Scroll down to the Serial Interfacing section. Disable AP-API Enable. Hit the Write button to program the XBee.

    • Hit the Write button to program the XBee.
